Perpetrator Of Domestic Violence Ferry Irawan Asks For Suspension Of Detention, Police: Wait For A Study

Artist Ferry Irawan officially proposed a suspension of detention to the East Java Regional Police after being detained for domestic violence (KDRT) against his wife, Venna Melinda.

"It is true that the Ditreskrimum of the East Java Police received a request for a suspension of detention. However, the information from the investigators we received will still be reviewed regarding the letter," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Dirmanto in Surabaya, to Antara Friday, January 20.

Dirmanto revealed that investigators from the Ditreskrimum of the East Java Police had received information from a lawyer so that a meeting would be facilitated between the victim and the reported party.

"Next week, additional examinations will be carried out on the two people, both the complainant and the reported," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Forensic Laboratory of the East Java Police, Kombes Sodiq Pratomo, said that his party received five samples of evidence from the domestic violence case experienced by Venna Melinda from the East Java Police Ditreskrimum.

The evidence is in the form of two bloods and comparisons of Venna Melinda. Meanwhile, the other three pieces of evidence that were examined were a torn cloth from a brown t-shirt, a white towel and blood found on the floor.

"DNA examination was carried out and the results were that the three pieces of evidence were all identical or match with Venna Melinda's blood. So, it was Venna Melinda's blood," he said.

Previously, Ferry Irawan was named a suspect in the domestic violence case against his wife, Venna Melinda, and has been detained by the East Java Regional Police.

Ferry was reported by Venna Melinda to the Kediri City Police for conducting domestic violence in one of the hotel rooms in Kediri City on Sunday, January 8, 2023. The report file was transferred to Sub-Directorate IV of the East Java Regional Police.

Ferry is suspected of articles 44 and 45 of Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning domestic violence. He is considered to have committed physical and psychological violence against the victim, Venna Melinda.
