Rock Star Album Dolly Parton Will Show Paul McCartney, Steve Perry To Steven Tyler
JAKARTA - Dolly Parton confirmed Paul McCartney, banyan Nicks, and Steven Tyler are some of the artists who will appear on their much-anticipated rock albums.
Titled Rock Star, this full album will feature classic cover songs belonging to legendary artists. Among others (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction from The Rolling Stones and Stairway to Heaven from Led Zeppelin.
During her appearance on The View program, Dolly said: "If I were at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, I'd better do something to get it.
"So I made a rock n 'roll album and I had a lot of rock stars I met that night on an album with me."
The host of The View, Joy Behar, then asked Parton if The Rolling Stones vocalist Mick Jagger would participate in the cover song Satisfaction.
"I did my best to try to get him to join, but (if not) I keep singing his song. I think Pink and Brandi Carlile will sing the song with me," the parton responded.
"We have a great artist like Paul McCartney who sang with me. Big Nicks, we just finished our song last night," Parton continued before revealing that John Fogerty, Steve Perry and Steven Tyler would also join him.
"We have a lot of iconic singers who will join this album. So I'm looking forward to it," he said.
"I'll even invite Cher. I've prepared a song for him. We've tried to get things right together but it will be a big sensation."
Parton last month said he wanted Elton John to appear in the project, which will be released later this year. Previously, he expressed his desire to reunite the two frontmen of Led Zeppelin; Jimmy Page and Robert Plant on the album.
