The Regent Of Gresik Is Positive For COVID-19, The Task Force For Tracing Dozens Of People Who Have Close Contact

SURABAYA - The Regent of Gresik, East Java, Sambari Halim Radianto is exposed to COVID-19. The Gresik Task Force immediately conducted tracing dozens of people who had had close contact with Sambari.

"Of course we will carry out further Swab examinations on about 40-50 people, who have had close contact with the Regent," said Head of the Gresik Health Service, Syaifudin Ghozali, Tuesday, December 29.

Previously, the Task Force carried out tracing by conducting swab tests on 20 people. They are families as well as a few close ones, namely aides and personal secretaries and a few others.

"The results are all negative," he said.

Ghozali said Sambari was positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a PCR Swab test, Monday, December 28, 2020. The swab was carried out at his own request, after attending an event with all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) at Prigen Pasuruan, Sunday, December 27.

"He asked SWAB because he felt his body was not fit. So we from the Health Office immediately conducted an examination and it turned out that the results were positive," he said.

Currently, Sambari has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Surabaya. However, Ghozali said that Sambari's health condition was now back to good health. "Currently the regent is in good condition, and he said he is back in good shape," said Ghozali.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Gresik Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Tursilowanto Hariogi, asked the Gresik community to pray for the Regent Sambari to be healthy and free from Covid-19. "We ask the people of Gresik for their health for all of their prayers. We hope that the community will continue to implement strict Health protocols," he said.

Regarding the new year's holiday policy and the policy of opening face-to-face schools, Tursilo said he could not confirm whether it would be opened or not. Meanwhile, regarding tourist attractions that are usually visited by people from outside Gresik, the results of the rapid test and swab must be included.

"We urge the public to continue to tighten the discipline of health protocols, and to stay at home," he said.
