Different From Ferdy Sambo's Demands, Putri Candrawathi Only Demanded 8 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - The defendant Putri Candrawathi was sentenced to 8 years in prison in the alleged premeditated murder case against Yosua alias Brigadier J. Prosecutors believe Putri is legally proven and convincingly violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code.
"Imposing (demand, ed) the defendant Putri Candrawathi with a prison sentence of 8 years minus a prison term," said the prosecutor during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, January 18.
In the charge, there were several burdensome considerations. One of them caused the loss of the life of Yosua alias Brigadier J and grief caused deep wounds to the families of the victims.
"The defendant was convoluted and did not regret his actions," said the prosecutor.
In addition, there are also mitigating considerations. The prosecutor considered Putri Candrawati never to be punished and behaved politely during the trial process.
Putri Candrawathi was charged with participating in the murder of Brigadier J. She is said to have not prevented her husband's plan and reported it to law enforcement officials. In fact, he was aware of the plans and killings of Brigadier J.
Previously, Putri's husband, Ferdy Sambo, was sentenced to life imprisonment. He is considered his actions have been legally and convincingly proven to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code.
"The defendant Ferdy Sambo has been sentenced to life imprisonment," said the prosecutor.
There are several considerations behind the demands for life imprisonment. For example, the aggravating thing is that it has made many members of the National Police involved.
On the other hand, the prosecutor thinks there is not a single mitigating thing for Ferdy Sambo.
"There is no mitigating thing," said the prosecutor.
