16 Teenagers Forced To Become Operators For Online Judicials Because Of Difficult Job Finding
JAKARTA - The difficulty of finding work is the reason suspects in online gambling operators at City Park Apartments get money from these illicit businesses. They are forced to do this unlawful job in order to earn income to fulfill their daily lives.
"Yes, because it is difficult to find work. On average they want to work but they don't have work," said Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Ardhie Demastyo when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, January 17.
Although the perpetrators did not know for sure what the background of the company and who the owner were, the perpetrators continued to enjoy the job with a salary of Rp. 3.5 million every month.
"They opened the application with vacancies (online gambling operators), then they were interested. He wanted to find work, because he had no work," said Ardhie.
Of the 24 people who were arrested, the police finally named 16 people as suspects. The average suspects came from outside West Jakarta.
"There is a suspect who has worked for 6 months as an online gambling operator. There are also only a few months left," he said.
From the suspect's statement to investigators, they knew that the work he was doing violated the law and had a risk of imprisonment.
"They know (the job is a legal risk), only him rather than having nothing to do. Yes (ready ready with that risk)," he explained.
From the confessions of the suspects, apart from receiving job information via telegram, they also received information from their friends who had worked as online gambling operators.
"Some were offered by their friends who had come to work first," he said.
Until now, as many as 16 suspects are still undergoing examination at the Cengkareng Police. The police are also still developing the network of online gambling cases.
Previously, it was reported that the results of the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police against 24 online gambling operators, they were tempted to do the job because they were lured with a large wage.
"They are paid 3.5 million every month, so they are tempted by the work," said Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Ardhie Demastyo when confirmed by VOI, Monday, January 16.
From the results of the examination, of the 24 people arrested, there were only a few people who were visiting the raid site.
