Optimize The PUPR Infrastructure OPOR Program, Minister Basuki Tinjau Of The Mangrove Forest Conservation Tahura In Bali
JAKARTA - In the context of monitoring the implementation of the OPOR (Operation for Optimization and Rehabilitation) policy for PUPR infrastructure after the G20 Summit in Bali, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono visited the Mangrove Forest Rehabilitation and Conservation area of Ngurah Rai Tahura, on Sunday, January 15.
In his review, Minister Basuki emphasized the importance of maintaining infrastructure that has been well built so that it can be kept clean, so that the value of the assets that have been built can be utilized optimally.
"Garbage must be cleaned optimally and managers must provide trash bins at many points, so that public awareness to dispose of garbage in its place can be facilitated," Basuki said in a written statement, Monday, January 16.
Mangrove conservation arrangements are carried out by contractor PT Adhi Karya with a budget sourced from the APBN in preparation for the implementation of the G20 Summit in Bali, last November.
At that location, the Muara Reservoir (Estuary Dam) has also been rehabilitated since February 2022 with an area of about 35 hectares.
The rehabilitation of the Muara Reservoir is expected to increase the supply of raw water for PDAM Badung Regency by 500 liters/second or an increase of 200 liters/second from the previous supply of 300 liters/second to support tourism areas in Kuta, Benoa, to Nusa Dua.
On this occasion, Basuki also reminded the manager of the Muara Nusa Dua Reservoir in the Ngurah Rai Mangrove Forest area to keep the garbage clean.
"So, it is not polluted and the main function of water storage as a source of raw water supply can be maintained," said Basuki.
The support for the arrangement of mangrove areas around the Muara Nusa Dua Reservoir area is carried out in parallel between the Bali Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW), the Directorate General of Human Settlements, the East Java - Bali National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) and the Bali - Nusa Penida River Basin Center (BWS) through regional infrastructure improvement activities that are synergized by preparing facilities for the naming of mangrove seeds.
