Continue The Struggle Of Imanez And Steven Kaligis, Republic 21 The Excise

JAKARTA - The reggae unit from Tangerang, Republic 21, is increasingly showing its spurs, both in the studio and on stage.

At the age of 14, the band, which is fronted by Arie (vocals), Dauz (guitar), Arland (keyboards), Adit (bass), and Akib (drums) continues to spread its wings in the Indonesian music industry.

Republic 21 released its newest single titled Main Behind in November last year. This song is a follow-up to the previous single, Ngutang.

"The work that we have released has good music, you know," Arland said in his statement.

"Try it. Want to be morning, day and night are still right to be fined..." Akib added.

Since its formation in 2008, Republic 21, has appeared in various events of the Indonesian reggae community, including opening act Steven Jam and Tony Q Rastafara.

In particular, Adit said that reggae musicians like Steven Kaligis, Tony Q and Imanez are role models for the Republic 21.

"We exist now because of their services in the reggae genre, especially in this country," said Adit.

"We want to contribute more by continuing what the reggae musicians have been fighting for like the late Imanez, the late Steven Nugraha Kaligis and other reggae musicians who have gone before the Holy. Full respect and prayers accompany them."
