JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of Riau, Edy Natar Nasution, said that the Riau pantun has been recognized as one of the world heritages, after the Riau Provincial Culture Office continues to strive so that the pantun is worthy of being declared a world heritage.

"Various efforts made intensively in the form of seminars, exhibitions and activities related to poetry in the community were also carried out by the Oral Traditions Association (ATL), in collaboration with the Riau Malay Traditional Institute (LAMR)," said Edi Natar Nasution in his statement to the media in Pekanbaru. , reported by Antara, Monday, December 28.

He said, many forums have been formed and the activities that have been carried out by ATL in encouraging Riau pantun to become world heritage.

Because of that, he said, the various activities that have taken place so far must be continued and the fostering of pantun in the future has become a shared responsibility between the central, provincial and district / city governments.

"I think what has been done so far between the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Riau Provincial Government, the Riau Islands Provincial Government, ATL, academics at home and abroad, students and the community must be continued by immediately making concrete actions related to the preservation and development of pantun now and in the future. , "he said.

All parties, he said, need to refresh their respective commitments in an effort to produce strategic achievements in the future through this pantun tradition.

He said the Pantun Virtual Kenduri event was very interesting and useful in order to be able to capture every point of conversation to be implemented in policies and the active role of preservation, development, utilization and fostering of pantun in various appropriate activities, especially in government.

For example, in the field of education, rhymes must be socialized, taught and popularized more widely to students through a local content curriculum.
