Empowerment And Protection Of Cooperatives Regulated In The Cooperative Bill
JAKARTA - Deputy for Cooperatives of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Ahmad Zabadi ensures that the empowerment and protection of cooperatives is regulated in the new Cooperatives Bill (RUU). "The Cooperatives Bill regulates cooperative empowerment and business protection efforts by developing a cooperative ecosystem, so that cooperative business development is carried out in a structured and sustainable manner," said Zabadi in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, January 15.
"So this Cooperative Bill must be used as a momentum for the revival of cooperatives to be one of the main pillars of the regional and national economy," he said.
Zabadi added that the Kemenkop UKM is given trust and honor by the government and the DPR to regulate cooperatives in the cooperative law, so that Cooperatives are not widely regulated in the P2SK Law. P2SK Law must be seen as a bottom line' arrangement for cooperative savings and loan businesses, and a form of state recognition that cooperatives are one of the main actors in the national financial sector, which opens cooperative business access in almost all financial sectors (Article 202). P2SK Law also makes OJK a strategic partner for the Kemenkop UKM in the development and supervision of savings and loan businesses that serve the community, not members (open loops).
