Gempa Magnitudo 5 Terjadi Di Bogor, Tapi Tidak Berpotensi Tsunami
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5 occurred about 25 kilometers northwest of Bogor City, West Java, Sunday, January 15.
Reporting from Antara, BMKG through the infoBMKG application noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was centered at a depth of 132 kilometers at 03.32.19 WIB.
The coordinates of the earthquake vibration are at 6.52 South Latitude (LS) and 106.58 East Longitude (BT).
BMKG revealed that the earthquake did not have the potential for a tsunami.
Meanwhile, in different places but at the same time (only different seconds), BMKG also recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9.
The earthquake occurred at 03.32.18 WIB about 26 kilometers southeast of Tangerang Regency, Banten with a depth of 151 kilometers.
The locations are at 6.50 South Latitude (LS) and 106.53 East Longitude (BT).
Through the Twitter account @infoBMKG mentioned in the first few minutes after the earthquake, the earthquake parameters may change and may not be accurate unless seismologists have been re-analyzed.
