Bogor Police Wants To Dismantrate The Gang From The Bodong Journalists Case
BOGOR - Bogor Resort Police, West Java, made the disclosure of a criminal act of extortion committed by two "badminton journalists" with the initials AY and Z in Sibanteng Village, Leuwisadeng, as an entry point to dismantle other gangs. "Information that came to us is that there are indeed several groups who have this kind of habit (extortion), but we are doing an in-depth investigation," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Iman Imanuddin during a press conference at the Bogor Police Headquarters, Cibinong, Saturday, January 14. He also asked the public for help to immediately report to the police if they know or become victims of extortion of fraudulent journalists. "Please to the public who feel they are victims to inform us or even make a police report," he said. Iman regretted the extortion committed by AY and Z because they had been on a journalist's basis for committing a crime. "People who are not responsible for being in the name of the media then scare the public by asking for something. Actually, the person concerned also cannot be said to be a media crew if he is not registered in the Press Council," said Kapolres Iman, quoted by Antara. Previously, the Head of the Luewiliang Police Commissioner Agus Supriyanto explained that the suspects AY and Z were arrested on Thursday evening January 12 in Leuwisadeng, after asking for money from the RW management in Sibanteng Village, Leuwisageng District, with threats to report a case.
Suspects AY and Z initially asked for Rp50 million, then lowered the request to Rp32 million and fell back to Rp15 million. "Then the Rp10 million was handed over, then the remaining Rp5 million asked for another week. Later, if within a week it is not submitted, news goes up," said Kompol Agus. According to him, the case referred to by AY and Z, namely regarding the alleged illegal levies on the implementation of the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) program in Sibanteng Village. "So, he considers that there are illegal levies, but it's not proven like illegal levies. The person who did (extortion) said he was an individual from RT RW," he said.
