Polri Collaborates With Kominfo To Investigate Indonesia Raya Song Harassment

JAKARTA - Bareksrim Polri confirmed that it would investigate the virality of the song Indonesia Raya whose lyrics were changed to insulting elements. In the investigation, the National Police will coordinate with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Investigators, in this case cyber bareskrim, have certainly coordinated with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and related agencies and of course this is part of the Cyber Crime investigator," said Head of Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono to reporters, Monday, December 28.

The investigation team will look for the location where the video was made. Although, circulating on social media if the video maker is a citizen of Malaysia.

So far, Argo has not been able to confirm this information. Later, if there is a bright spot, then, his party will not hesitate to make a report regarding the case.

"We'll see what the locus delicti is like, this is part of the investigation of Cyber Crime," said Argo.

"Of course we will continue to carry out investigations and later we can find out exactly what happened where and if we need to make a report we will make a report," he continued.

Previously reported, the national anthem of Indonesia Raya was harassed on social media. Harassment is done by changing the song lyrics with an insulting narrative.

The video that insulted the Indonesian national anthem was said to have been uploaded to the MY Asean YouTube account. However, the video on the channel account is now unavailable or has disappeared. It is suspected that the video was taken down.

The Indonesian government through the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur responded by reporting this problem to the Malaysian Royal Police (PDRM).
