A Junior High School Student In South Jakarta Dies Gainfully, The Witness Said That Victims Of Depression Are Often Traded By Their Parents
JAKARTA - A student at a high school in Cilandak, South Jakarta, died. Allegedly, the victim with the initials PHY (18) was desperate to end his life by drinking poison in Jagakarsa Raya, Gang Banten, South Jakarta.
Witness M, the victim's neighbor, said that PHY was found dead on Monday, January 9th. He suspected that the victim was depressed, because his mother often abused him.
"Her mother does often follow. She (has a lot of depression. (Died) last Monday," said M when confirmed, Friday, January 13.
M also admitted that he often heard screams from PHY. M suspected that at that time the victim was being abused by his mother. However, said M, he could not do much, because he felt it was not his right.
"I just heard his suffering and I have no right to act further," he said.
He hopes that with this incident, his parents can be aware and not repeat the same thing.
"I hope he is aware," he said.
Meanwhile, contacted by the Jagakarsa Police Chief, Kompol Multazam Lisendra confirmed the death of the student. However, he could not confirm the cause of death of the victim.
"There is (a person who) died, we are investigating the cause of death, whether it was really suicide," Multazam said when confirmed, Friday, January 13.
"(We too-ed) have met his family. What is certain is that the family has let the death of their child be, "he added.
