JAKARTA - Andy / rif collaborated with the duo SeteruSunyi in a new song titled Menanti. Through this song, Andy tries to break the age and genre barrier.
The duo from Semarang, SeteruSunyi, is quite consistent in carrying out the electronic lo-fi genre. Meanwhile, Andy, is one of the rock icons of the 90s who relentlessly raises the banner of distortionary music in the Indonesian music industry.
"This collaboration with SeteruSunyi is an effort to unite the spirit of cross genre and cross generation," said Andy / rif in an official statement received by VOI, Monday, December 28.
"This is our effort in presenting a new format in the Indonesian music scene. Without any boundaries. This includes the electronic lo-fi nuanced music that we carry," added the man whose real name is Restu Triandy.
As the title implies, this song has a meaning about waiting. According to Adhitya Yogatama as the producer of SeteruSunyi, Waiting is a complete picture of the conditions in 2020 which are hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In 2020, there is a lot of waiting. Through Waiting, we believe that there will be good things that will make waiting the most beautiful next year, "said Adhitya.
The song Menanti was written by Irene Sampouw and Shania Krishna and involved Blakt Orkestra as the arranger. This is SeteruSunyi's third single after Rona-Mu and It's You which was also written this year.
