Shooting Investigation Of 6 FPI Laskar, Komnas HAM Was Attacked By Hoaxes
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) admitted to being attacked by a number of fake news or hoaxes on social media during an investigation into the shooting of six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) troops at the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road.
A number of hoaxes include circulating screenshots narrating that Komnas HAM said the shooting of emam Laskar FPI did not violate human rights. In fact, according to Deputy Commissioner for Komnas HAM, Amiruddin Al Rahab, so far all Komnas HAM commissioners have never stated that the shooting of six laskar was not a human rights violation.
"Recently there have been personal attacks on Komnas HAM which were conveyed through social media," Amiruddin said in a press conference at the Komnas HAM office, Monday, December 28.
The next hoax that Komnas HAM found was about the existence of a torture house. Amiruddin said that there was a lot of news circulating that Komnas HAM said the six laskar who had died were tortured somewhere before being executed by the police.
"I think this needs to be stopped in this way so that people are not more confused about issues like this," he said.
Komnas HAM Deputy Commissioner who is also the Head of the Investigation and Investigation Team of Komnas HAM Choirul Anam also conveyed the hoax about this torture house. He said that the false information was certainly not from his side because his team never found the house.
"I make sure that Komnas HAM never finds a house where the torture was taken, we are still in the process of detailing the chronology of the narrative of the incident," he said.
"So if there is (information, red) a house where the torture is like that, I make sure it's not true," he added.
Previously reported, after a shooting incident involving the police with six FPI troops on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Komnas HAM then formed an investigation team.
This team was formed after the difference in the chronological narrative between the police and the FPI after the incident occurred. In carrying out investigations, Komnas HAM has conducted a number of investigations both on FPI and the police as well as related parties such as Jasa Marga as toll road manager.
In addition, the Komnas HAM Team has also conducted an examination of the Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran and the police doctor who conducted an autopsy on the bodies of six FPI soldiers who died.
It is known that the incident of the police attack carried out by Rizieq Shihab's army took place at around 00.30 WIB Monday, December 7 in the morning.
Initially, the Head of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran, said that the police received news that a mass of supporters of Rizieq Shihab would be deployed in connection with an investigation called Inspector General Fadil circulating in many WhatsApp groups. The Regional Police then conducted an investigation into the correctness of the information and followed the vehicle Rizieq was in.
Furthermore, on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Fadil said the officers' vehicles were intercepted and then attacked using firearms and sharp weapons.
"Members who were threatened with their safety because they were attacked, then took a firm measure of measure, so that the group suspected of being MRS followers, totaling 10, died as many as 6 people," said Fadil.
However, this was denied by the FPI Spokesperson, Munarman. Munarman emphasized that Rizieq had traveled to attend recitation at the residence of his immediate family. "The news is slander. Habib Rizieq is heading outside Jakarta to attend the nuclear family recitation. I do not want to mention where it is. This is only a nuclear family recitation, it does not involve any parties," said Munarman.
Munarman also denied that Rizieq's followers had firearms. Therefore, Munarman emphasized that no shootout was carried out by the police and members of the laskar.
