Bareskrim Checks Rizieq Shihab About The Megamendung Crowd

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri has scheduled an examination of Rizieq Shihab. Rizieq is examined as a suspect regarding the crowd case and the health protocol that took place in Megamendung, Bogor.

"Today is the focus of examining Rizieq as a suspect in the case of the Megamendung crowd," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Andi Rian, to reporters, Monday, December 28.

Andi said that Rizieq's examination was carried out at the Metro Jaya Police Narcotics Detention Center (Rutan). This examination has been going on since 10:00 WIB.

But Andi was reluctant to explain the things that would be explored in the examination.

"We are checking to investigate the case of the crowd," he said.

Rizieq Shihab was named a suspect in the alleged health protocol (prokes) case that took place in Megamendung, West Java. Determination of the suspect is based on evidence and case title.

However, in this case, said Andi, investigators applied a different article to the crowd case in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. Investigators fully use articles related to health quarantine.

In this case, the investigator used Article 14 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of Law Number 4 of 1984 concerning Contagious Disease Outbreaks, Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine, and Article 216 of the Criminal Code.
