The Ministry Of PUPR Targets The Construction Of The Jragung Semarang Dam In The Village Next Year
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Pemali Juana River Basin Center (BBWS) is completing the construction of the Jragung dam in Semarang Regency, Central Java.
Head of BBWS Pemali Juana Muhammad Adek Rizaldi said the Jragung Dam was built with a capacity of 90 million cubic meters, mainly it would be useful as a raw water source for the Semarang City area of 500 liters per second, Grobogan Regency 250 liters per second, and Demak Regency 250 liters per second, as well as supplying water for irrigation areas covering an area of 4,528 hectares in Semarang Regency.
"The construction contract for the Jragung Dam was signed at the end of 2020 and started construction in mid-2021 after the land preparation process. Currently, the overall construction progress of the three work packages is around 21.6 percent and is targeted for completion in 2024," said Adek in his official statement, as quoted on Thursday, January 12.
Currently, said Adek, his party is accelerating development with a construction method that is carried out in parallel without having to wait for one completion of the work to start another.
"Currently, the dam body pile process (main dam) has begun without having to wait for the river defect tunnel to be completed. So that the piles are not flooded, the river flow is temporarily diverted by making river drains," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Certain Non-Vertical Work Unit (SNVT) for the Development of the BBWS Dam Pemali Juana I Gusti Ngurah Carya Andi Baskara said that the Jragung Dam was able to reduce the risk of flooding in the downstream area by up to 45 percent, potentially as a Hydro Micro Power Plant with a capacity of 1,400 KW, and the development of water tourism destinations and tourism.
Andi also said that in January 2023 the construction of dam facilities and the Dam Management Unit (UPB) office had begun.
" Near the access road to the dam will be made a botical garden spot that is open to local residents and will involve the surrounding community for planting fruit trees in the green area of the dam, so that residents will benefit from other benefits from the existence of the Jragung Dam," he added.
For your information, the Jragung Dam construction work consists of three work packages with a work scope of Packages I and II in the form of excavation and pile-up work (main dam), cliff protection, drilling and grouting, and Package III including access road work, river defectors, spillway buildings, and other work.
Package I was carried out by service provider PT Waskita Karya with a contract value of Rp806.3 billion.
As of January 11, 2023, the physical progress has reached 14.14 percent. Package II was carried out by PT Wijaya Karya-PT BRP (KSO) with a contract value of Rp758 billion and the progress has reached 24.97 percent.
The Package III was carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya-PT Pelita Nusa Perkasa (KSO) worth IDR 735.9 billion with physical progress reaching 25.68 percent.
