The Sumatran Network Of Methamphetamine, North Jakarta, Was Arrested, Ordered By Inmates In One Of The Prisons

JAKARTA - YL (50) is a suspected drug dealer who owns 284 grams of crystal methamphetamine has been arrested by members of the DKI Jakarta Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP). YL is a dealer who often transacts across provinces in Indonesia.

"In the beginning of this year, we BNNP DKI succeeded in arresting a drug dealer with the initials YL. The illicit goods were sent via the Sumatra route," said Head of BNNP DKI, Brigadier General (Brigjen) Jackson LApalonga from a written statement, Thursday, January 12.

Jackson further said that the disclosure of the perpetrators was based on reports from Riau eradication officers. In the report, a package of narcotics was sent to an apartment in Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

"Based on the report, the team immediately went to the field. Based on the characteristics that are believed to be a narcotics network syndicate and the team immediately made arrests," he said.

The officer who arrested the perpetrator immediately carried out an examination. BNNP officers found 284 grams of crystal methamphetamine. In the package, there is a small plastic clip prepared to make small packages to be distributed to users.

"This perpetrator has never been imprisoned, if converted into methamphetamine, it is estimated to reach Rp. 300 million. The drugs are sold to the general public," he said.

Jackson said YL admitted that he had carried out the action four times. YL admitted that he received an order that was in prison.

"The illicit goods were sent via expedition service and YL himself boarded the plane. It is planned that the drugs will be sent by YL to Makasar, South Sulawesi," he said.

YL was charged with article 114 (2) sub 112 (2) of Law No. 35, in 2009 concerning narcotics.
