Wolverhampton Late Goal Throws Tottenham's Win

JAKARTA - One late goal scored by Romain Saiss for Wolverhampton canceled Tottenham Hotspur's victory in the 15th Premier League match which ended in a 1-1 draw at Molineux Stadium, Sunday local time (Monday WIB).

The goal was scored by Saiss as the center-back headed in a Pedro Neto corner four minutes from half-time.

As a result of this goal, the advantage that Tottenham had since the game was not even one minute old through Tanguy Ndombele just disappeared and the team made by Jose Mourinho had to settle for a point shared with the hosts Wolverhampton.

According to Antara, Tottenham had the chance to double their lead in the 14th minute when Ndombele sent a measured cross into the box, but Sergio Reguilon's free-standing header flew at the far post.

Ndombele and Reguilon returned to command Tottenham's attack in the 21st minute, but the Real Madrid academy dropout failed to beat goalkeeper Rui Patricio in a one-on-one situation.

In the second half Nuno Espirito Santo asked Wolverhampton to appear more clinical after failing to create meaningful opportunities in the first half.

The hard work only paid off in the 86th minute when Saiss was able to equalize and spark a revival momentum for the hosts.

Two minutes after the goal, Fabio Silva was able to get past Ben Davies, but unfortunately his shot from a tight angle was still not right into the visitors' goal.

Opportunity was born again in the sixth minute of injury time when Ruben Neves sent a long pass and Eric Dier failed to anticipate, the ball was able to be headed by Silva, but this time too weak and easily tamed by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The result was only enough to bring Tottenham up to fifth in the standings with a collection of 26 points, while Wolverhampton did not move from 11th with a collection of 21 points, according to the official Premier League page.

Tottenham, who have now gone through three games without a win, certainly do not want their momentum as title contenders to evaporate, especially as they host the bottom team Fulham in the next match on Wednesday, December 30.

The day before, Wolverhampton would try to worsen Manchester United's home trend this season when they travel to Old Trafford.
