Meeting 4 Hours, Commission IX Of The DPR Has Not Yet Taken A Decree To Reject Or Accept The Job Creation Perppu
Commission IX of the DPR RI has not taken any decision on the issuance of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation.
As is known, Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives held a closed working meeting with the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah. The meeting, which lasted for 4 hours, discussed the Job Creation Perppu.
Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Charles Honoris, said that one of the meetings that discussed one of them regarding the Job Creation Perppu had not yet resulted in a decision.
"Still not (the decision on the attitude of the Perppu), this has not yet been completed," Charles said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 11.
Charles said, every member of Commission IX who was present at work, all of them carried out an in-depth investigation regarding the Perppu. Moreover, emphasizing the issue of socialization and communication of the issuance of the Perppu.
"And there is also more intense communication to stakeholders including trade unions. So that various concerns, public anxiety, trade union congestion can be conveyed in more detail by the government," he said.
Furthermore, Charles said regarding the Job Creation Perppu, Commission IX actually hopes that in the future its socialization needs to be improved. This is to prevent public concerns.
"So that there is no longer confusion, fear, so people know what the derivative rules are like. Any workers' rights, whether there will be a reduction in workers' rights, or maybe there will be better things to protect workers' rights," he said.
Meanwhile, member of Commission XI of the PDIP Faction Krisdayanti said the closed meeting was at the request of the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah. Thus, the DPR tries to accommodate the Minister of Manpower's desire to freely answer.
"So we try to accommodate what our partners want so that they can answer more freely. So that information can be given to the public as well as possible," said Krisdayanti.
Krisdayanti also mentioned that the government did not involve the DPR in the preparation of the Job Creation Perppu. Moreover, the issuance of the Perppu was carried out while the DPR was still in recess. This is the public spotlight.
"Because maybe in fact they (the public) also know that the government frankly does not involve the DPR in this matter," he said.
