DPR And Menaker Ida Hold Closed Meetings, Discussed About The Job Creation Perppu

JAKARTA - Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives held a meeting with the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah. Based on the schedule, the meeting discussed the Government Regulation in Lieu of the Law (Perppu) on Job Creation.

The meeting started at 10:00 WIB at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 11.

Initially, the meeting between Commission XI and the Minister of Manpower Ida was open to the public. Not long after, the Minister of Manpower Ida suddenly asked Commission IX to hold a closed working meeting today.

Ida explained that actually the one authorized to discuss the deepening of the Keppu Cipta Keja is another ministry. But unfortunately, Ida did not specify the ministry in question.

On this occasion, Ida also asked Commission IX to discuss the deepening of the Job Creation Perppu, especially the Employment cluster, which can be carried out in a closed manner.

"The permission of the leadership may be if possible while it is actually the one who gets the mandate to explain to the DPR is another ministry, maybe if you want to do an in-depth investigation, maybe it will be more flexible if the meeting is held behind closed doors," he said.

For your information, the presence of the Job Creation Perppu was marked by rejection from various elements of society. One of them is a labor union that is part of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI).

In fact, tens of thousands of people who are members of the Labor Party, Labor Union, and Farmers Union will hold a demonstration in front of the State Palace. This action is a form of rejection of the Government Regulation in Lieu of the Job Creation Law (Perppu).

This action will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in front of the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta.

Labor Party President Said Iqbal said the action would start at 9.30 to 12.00 WIB. Where the mass action came from Jabodetabek, Serang, Cilegon, Karawang, Purwakarta, and West Bandung.

"The number of participants participating in the action is estimated at more than 10 thousand people," said Said Iqbal, at a press conference, Monday, January 9.

Simultaneously, said Iqbal, the action will also be carried out in several industrial cities. Among others in Bandung-West Java; Semarang-Central Java; and Surabaya-East Java.

In addition, he continued, the action was also carried out in Banda Aceh-Aceh; Medan-North Sumatra; Palembang-South Sumatra; Bengkulu; Batam; Riau Islands; Balikpapan-East Kalimantan; and Banjarmasin-South Kalimantan.

"Including Ternate-North Maluku; Mataran-NTB; Makassar-South Sulawesi; Palu-Central Sulawesi; Gorontalo, and several other cities including Papua, Eastern Indonesia," he said.
