Kylian Mbappe Makes French Football Situation, PSG Boss Instead Gives Support
JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain player, Kylian Mbappe, made the situation hot in French football. He tweeted the heat-up of the President of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noel Le Graet.
This started with Le Graet's decision to extend Didier Deschamps' tenure to the 2026 World Cup. Even though at that time, former France international Zinedine Zidane was eager to occupy the seat after the 2022 World Cup.
But the most controversial is the statement from Le Graet which is considered inappropriate. The 81-year-old told RMC he did not want to draw to Zidane.
He will also not answer calls from the player who brought the French national team to win the 1998 World Cup.
This sparked an unhappy reaction from Mbappe. He considered that Le Graet's move did not respect Zidane as a legend in Les Bleus' life.
His disappointment was later stated in an upload on his Twitter social media account.
"Zidane is French, we don't respect legends like that," he tweeted.
Zidane c’est la France, on manque pas de respect à la légende comme ça… 🤦🏽♂️

Mbappe's statement received support from the club. PSG coach Christophe Galtier agreed with the player and said Mbappe had spoken from the heart.
"Zinedine Zidane deserves respect from everyone. He is an extraordinary player for the French team and a brilliant coach who has won the Champions League three times," Galtier said.
"The words spoken have caused a strong reaction. I will not comment on those words, I will only say, Zidane deserves great respect from everyone."
"Kylian Mbappe is a great man. He expresses himself in his own way with his heart, so that's what he says, and I'm not surprised Mbappe wants to defend Zidane. I know he really respects Zidane," he concluded.
