Komnas Perempuan Calls Never Disbursing Data On Women's Open Shirts Referring To Sexual Violence
JAKARTA - Komnas Perempuan member Siti Aminah Tardi denied the statement by Rabbani Marketing Director, Ridwanul Karim, who stated that Komnas Perempuan's open clothes were the trigger for sexual violence."Komnas Perempuan's Annual Record for 20 years, from 2003 to 2022, has never mentioned that women's clothes that are open trigger sexual violence," said Siti Aminah Tardi when contacted in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, January 10.Siti Aminah Tardi said that Komnas Perempuan annually launches annual records which are a compilation of data on cases of violence against women in Indonesia."Based on complaints that came directly to Komnas Perempuan, women's clothing was insignificant as a cause of sexual violence. Everything could happen to women in open clothes to closed clothes," said Siti Aminah Tardi.Meanwhile, regarding age, women who are victims of sexual violence are recorded from girls aged 8 years to elderly women.In Komnas Perempuan's 2022 annual record, there were 4,660 cases of sexual violence recorded, with the majority of the perpetrators being known or close to the victim."Not an unknown person who is focused on certain clothes," he added.Komnas Perempuan rejected the mention of Komnas Perempuan data to support advertisements submitted by Muslim fashion company Rabbani."The use of Komnas Perempuan's data shows that sexual violence is caused by open clothes is not true and is disinformation or spreading misleading information, which can violate statutory regulations," said Siti Aminah Tardi.Previously, in an interview podcast with the Director of Marketing Rabbani, Ridwanul Karim uploaded on the Youtube sharing site on January 6, 2023, Ridwanul Karim stated that the open women's clothing was a factor in the cause of cases of sexual violence.The statement was delivered in the minutes 02.05 - 02.25 by mentioning that the data was taken based on Komnas Perempuan data."Many times, resource persons and hosts mentioned the name of Komnas Perempuan as a reference for the data discussed, including mentioning factors for the occurrence of violence, including how to dress women," said Siti.
