KPA: West Java Becomes The Province Of The Most Agrarian Conflict Contributors Throughout 2022
JAKARTA - The Agrarian Reform Consortium (KPA) declared West Java Province to be one of the regions that contributed the most to the eruption of agrarian conflicts throughout 2022.
This was explained by the Agrarian Reform Consortium (KPA) in its late 2022 note with the theme 'Agrarian Conflict Bara: Unconnected PTPN, Increasing Criminalization'.
"The eruption of agrarian conflicts throughout 2022 has hit 33 provinces in Indonesia. Of the 33 provinces, West Java ranks first with 25 conflicts (agrarian)," said KPA Secretary General Dewi Sartika in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, Monday, January 9 yesterday.
The second position came from North Sumatra Province, with 22 agrarian conflicts. Meanwhile, for the third position contributed by West Kalimantan Province, there were 13 cases.
Dewi said the eruption of conflict in West Java was dominated by property, plantation, infrastructure, agriculture, and military facilities businesses.
"West Java's position as the closest province to DKI Jakarta has made West Java a business field for developer companies in the property sector and infrastructure projects," he said.
According to Dewi, agrarian conflicts will increase in 2022 due to a number of National Strategic Projects (PSN) which are being boosted by the government.
"For example, such as the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail line involving residents with PT. KAI, several toll road projects such as the Jatikarya Toll Road, as well as the construction of the Citarum Harum project," he said.
For your information, the second position is occupied by North Sumatra Province with the number of conflict eruptions reaching 22 cases.
The eruption was dominated by 10 plantation sector conflicts, followed by agrarian conflicts related to forest areas of eight cases, due to property as many as two cases, and one conflict eruption each from the agricultural sector and military facilities.
Furthermore, East Java Province took third place with 13 conflict eruptions, which were dominated by plantation conflicts of seven cases, property of three cases, and one conflict eruption that occurred in the forestry sector, infrastructure and military facilities, respectively.
