Shin Tae-yong Did Not Participate In The U-19 National Team Entourage To Spain, Why?
JAKARTA - Coach Shin Tae-yong decided not to participate in the U-19 national team team that left for Spain, Saturday, December 26 and chose to lead the U-23 training camp for the U-23 national team in Jakarta first.
Previously, Shin was scheduled to join directly with his foster children from Jakarta. But in the end, he chose to lead the U-23 national team training camp which will last until the end of this month.
Acting Secretary General of PSSI Yunus Nusi in Jakarta, said that after leading TC U-23, Shin Tae-yong was planned to fly to Spain on January 2, 2021.
"Yes yesterday there was a change because with the release of FIFA for the World Cup, Shin discussed with Dirtek (Indra Sjafri), for the time being he is focused on the U-23 for now, after finishing U-23 on 2 (January) then going to Spain," said Yunus Nusi as quoted by Antara.
According to Yunus, the postponement of the U-20 World Cup did not make the program that had been designed to be adjusted. This TC is PSSI's responsibility in fostering players for the future.
In addition, PSSI also still has to prepare U-19 players because there is still one more tournament that has yet to change, namely the U-19 AFC Cup in Uzbekistan in March 2021.
"In March there is an AFC Cup in Uzbekistan, God willing, they will participate in the AFC Cup in March. God willing, we consider them the best. At a later time these children will become U-23 national team players, seniors, at the same time. will come and become our mainstay, "he added.
Previously, the U-19 national team training camp in Spain will last until January 31, 2021. They will not only gain knowledge, but will also hold a series of matches with clubs in the country of Matador.
