Angkasa Pura II Keeps The Busyest Routes At Soetta Airport: Singapore To Doha

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II or AP II noted that there are five busiest international tute stations at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta). Among them are from and to Singapore to from and to Doha.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said flight traffic at AP II airport including Soekarno-Hatta Airport was very high in December 2022.

"This is driven by the improving conditions in the midst of a pandemic and the peak season for the 2022/2023 Christmas and New Year holidays," he told reporters, Monday, January 9.

Soetta is the ninth list of airports as the busiest airport in the world based on Flightsfrom.com. Meanwhile, based on the OAG Aviation report, London-based air travel data provider Soekarno-Hatta Airport is ranked 1st on the list of busiest airports in Asean.

Meanwhile, throughout January-December 2022, the number of passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport reached 40.54 million passengers, an increase of about 57 percent compared to January-December 2021.

In 2022, said Awaluddin, there will be five busiest international routes at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

First, from and to Singapore as many as 1.68 million passengers. Then, Jeddah 945,943 passengers.

Kuala Lumpur as many as 863,772 passengers. Then, Doha 446,177 passengers and Medina 441,445 passengers," he said.

Meanwhile, there are five busiest domestic routes recorded at Soetta Airport. First, from and to Denpasar as many as 4.32 million passengers. Then, Deli Serdang 3.28 million passengers.

Then, Surabaya as many as 2.62 million passengers. Then, Makassar as many as 2.55 million passengers and Pontianak as many as 1.62 million passengers.

Phased Recovery

Awaluddin said that the recovery of flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will take place in stages and sustainably, supported by resilient organizations in the midst of a pandemic and the collaboration of all stakeholders.

"AP II and stakeholders can manage flight recovery at Soekarno-Hatta Airport well, so that flight traffic growth can be carried out in a sustainable manner and gradually increases until its peak in December 2022," he said.

Awaluddin said, the increasing demand for flights can be accommodated by the availability of flight time slots and facilities at AP II airport.

"Including the readiness of the airline fleet, support from AirNav Indonesia as a provider of flight navigation services, readiness of ground handling, and full support from regulators and the TNI and Polri," he said.

Cumulatively throughout 2022, the number of passenger movements at 20 AP II airports reached around 62 million passengers or skyrocketed 100 percent compared to 2021 as many as 31 million passengers.
