JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 483,072 vehicles or nearly half a million vehicles leaving Jakarta during the Christmas and New Year holidays. This figure is an increase of 17.4 percent from normal conditions.
PT Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, said that this figure was calculated from the D-2 Christmas, namely Thursday, 23 December to 25 December 2020.
"This figure is the cumulative flow of traffic from several main toll gates (GT), namely Cikupa GT (west direction), Ciawi GT (south direction), and Cikampek Utama GT and Kalihurip Utama GT (east direction)," said Dwimawan in his statement. , Saturday, December 26th.
Dwimawan predicts that there will be an increase in the cumulative volume of vehicles from the main toll gate which will return to Jakarta on Sunday, December 27, 2020, reaching 178,887 vehicles. Where, this figure increased 13.82 percent from normal traffic.
"It is predicted that the majority of 57,404 vehicles will pass through the Cikampek Utama toll gate towards Jakarta, an increase of 35 percent from normal traffic," said Dwimawan.
Furthermore, Dwimawan appealed to toll road users to anticipate travel times. Avoid returning to Jakarta at the peak time of 27 December 2020 for a more comfortable trip.
"Make sure vehicles and drivers are in prime condition, adhere to health protocols while at rest areas, fill up sufficient fuel and electronic money balances, and comply with signs and directions from officers and take breaks if they are tired of driving," he explained.
The details of traffic distribution out of Jakarta are as follows:
East direction- GT Cikampek Utama 1, with 146,823 vehicles leaving Jakarta, an increase of 51.6 percent from normal traffic.
- GT Kalihurip Utama 1, with a total of 97,356 vehicles leaving Jakarta, a decrease of 2.5 percent from normal traffic.
The total number of vehicles leaving Jakarta heading East was 244,179 vehicles, an increase of 24.1 percent from normal traffic.
West directionTraffic leaving Jakarta heading west via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is 140,471 vehicles, up 0.1 percent from normal traffic.
South directionMeanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta heading south / local via GT Ciawi 1 Jagorawi Toll Road was 98,423 vehicles, an increase of 32 percent from normal traffic.
