Update On COVID-19 As Of December 26: New Cases Of 6,740, Healing, Increasing 6,389
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday, December 26. A total of 44,581 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6,740 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 706,837 people," data quoted from the Ministry of Health, Saturday.
Today's cases increased by 6,389, so that a total of 576,693 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 147 people and a total of 20,994 people.
The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,058 new cases and a total of 173,929 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by Central Java which has 871 new cases with a total of 77,008 cases. East Java has 803 new cases and a total of 80,010 cases. Then, West Java has 601 new cases and a total of 78,698 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,558 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 678 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 661 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an increase of 504 recovered cases.
Then, there are 3 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are West Kalimantan, Jambi and East Nusa Tenggara
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 7,082,550. In detail, a total of 6,960,856 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 121,694 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 68,061 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
