Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson Makes Hospital, Payments Can Use Crypto ADA
JAKARTA Charles Hoskinson, founder of cryptocurrency Cardano (ADA) announced the inauguration of his new hospital, Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic. The hospital, which will start operating next month, will accept payments for health services with the ADA cryptocurrency.
Furthermore, Hoskinson explained on January 6 yesterday that the hospital will open from February 2023. Even so, the Cardano founder did not reveal whether Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic would accept other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum or not.
Hoskinson shared the update in response to one of his Twitter followers asking if they could pay their bills at a newly launched clinic using ADA. Cardano founders replied with "Yes."
According to the hospital's website, Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic is based in Wyoming, United States. The hospital offers clients with various medical services, including primary care, mental health care, women's health, proactive health checks, cancer examinations, diet/nutrients, and cardiovascular care.
The medical facility also focuses on an extension of life for elderly patients, biological food supplements, diets, sports, and medical care. This clinic has partially opened and will be fully operational next month. According to the company's LinkedIn page, hospitals currently have about ten staff members and are working to increase the number of employees.
Launching CryptoPotato, Hoskinson has recently continued to move to encourage adoption of ADA tokens. In June, blockchain developers announced the launch of a Marioie restaurant and whiskey lounge in Wyoming, where ADA was accepted as a payment option.
However, the decision to make ADA a payment method is unsatisfactory for some customers. Some people suggested that Hoskinson could choose alternative payment options such as using Cardano-based stablecoins, namely DJED.
