PAN Responds To Megawati's Discourse On Becoming A Presidential Candidate In 2024: Phenomenonal And Spectacular
JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) has responded to the discourse of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri becoming a presidential candidate (candidate) in 2024. The proposal for Megawati to run again in the five-year contestation was conveyed by the Co-Founder of Total Politics, Budi Adiputro in a political discussion last weekend.Deputy Chairperson of PAN Viva Yoga Mauladi, said it would be spectacular and phenomenal if Megawati ran as a presidential candidate in 2024 from PDIP."Something phenomenal and spectacular if Mrs. Mega is nominated by PDIP in the 2024 presidential election," Viva told reporters, Monday, January 9.Because, continued Viva, so far the public only knows that only the PDIP presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo and the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani."Because so far the public has focused on the figures of Mbak Puan and Mas Ganjar, while Bu Mega is positioned as an import decision maker," he said.According to Viva, nothing goes against the basic law (UUD) if Megawati runs again as a presidential candidate."Juridically, if PDIP nominates Mrs. Mega, in the presidential period it does not violate the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections because Mrs. Mega has only served one term," he explained.In addition, said Viva, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia also physically still has strong stamina. "In fact, with the experience they have, it will certainly be more mature, wise, and clear in the decision-making process and formulate state policies," he said.Even so, Viva said, PAN did not want to interfere in the affairs of the PDIP presidential candidate.
