Elected As Host For The 2023 Story, Kemenparekraf Targets The Number Of Tourists Up To 7.4 Million
JAKARTA - Indonesia will host the 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) this year. Jogja Expo Center was chosen as the location for the TRAVEX agenda (Travel Exchange) to be held and Prambanan Temple as the location for the Opening Ceremony of ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023.
Currently, Indonesia is known to be an ASEAN tourism forum. According to ASEAN tradition, Indonesia's chairmanship in the ASEAN tourism forum will end by hosting the 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) with the theme "ASEAN: A Journey totentuations".
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno targets the number of foreign tourists (tourists) to reach 7.4 million, supported by the success of holding the 2023 earthquake.
"Of course, the hope is that they can bring foreign tourists and also buy Indonesian creative economy products. We also hope that the target for visiting foreign tourists will be 7.4 million in 2023, starting with their success from their success," Sandiaga said in a written statement, Monday, January 9.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy explained that the 2023 meeting has a considerable meaning because it will be the opening event for the meeting between ASEAN ministers during Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN in all sectors this year, which carries the theme ASEAN: Epicentrum of Growth.
The momentum of Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN in 2023 is expected to produce new initiatives in overcoming various major challenges that are of concern to the world.
"And this is the first ministry agency that will welcome the chairmanship of Indonesia at ASEAN 2023. Therefore, we ask the central and regional governments in Yogyakarta, as well as tourism industry players to attend and support the success of the 2023 eruption," Sandiaga said.
On the same occasion, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani said, "In addition to 2023, it will be filled with a number of supporting programs, such as the Opening Ceremony in the open theater area of Prambanan Temple, Royaldian at the Yogyakarta Palace, Post Tour for Delegation Meetings with the concept of the Trail of Civilization and the theme Wellness Tourism, Bilateral Meetings between countries and international organizations, ASEAN NTOs Media Briefing, ASEAN Awarding Ceremony, ASEAN Tourism Ministers Press Conference, and Handover Ceremony from Indonesia to Laos PDR.
"We will also give appreciation to relevant stakeholders who have implemented how sustainable tourism itself," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Yogyakarta Special Region Tourism Office, Singgih Raharjo, said that the Yogyakarta Provincial Government's seriousness in supporting the 2023 trip packages and providing free shipping for the purchase of creative economy products on display.
"The seriousness of the local government in providing support for this activity is selling tour packages, we also provide free 'postage' (free shipping) for purchasing creative products, can be sent to domestic and foreign countries," he added.
For your information, the 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) will take place on February 2-5. 10 ASEAN countries will be followed by India, Japan, China, South Korea, and Russia.
The selection of Indonesia as the host in the 2023 era repeats the moment 20 years ago. Indonesia itself has played a role in the development of tourism cooperation in the ASEAN region since 1976 and has been involved in it since it was first formed or in 1981.
