Bangkalan BPBD Calls 3,000 Head Of Family Affected By Blega Floods, 200 Hectares Of Tambak Embes Land

MADURA - Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bangkalan Regency, Madura, East Java, Geger Hery Susianto stated that at least 3,000 families were affected by the flood overflow of the Blega River, in Blega District."The data on flood victims is in accordance with the report submitted by the joint team on duty in the field until tonight," he said in Bangkalan as quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 8.The flood caused by the overflow of the Blega River was caused by high rainfall in neighboring sub-districts such as Geger, Konang, and Geger Districts."What is clear is that the flood that was sent this time was greater than the flood that occurred at the turn of New Year's Eve 2023 which also inundated Blega District at that time," he said.According to him, at that time the head of the family affected by the flood in Blega District was 2,479 families. Then, agricultural land owned by residents covering an area of 58 hectares, 200 hectares of pond land was also flooded, including a number of office areas in Blega District, such as sub-district offices, and the Blega Regional Education Coordinator's office.Meanwhile, in this flood, a number of offices that were flooded include the Blega Health Center, Bank Jatim, BRI, BTN, and the pawnshop office.A number of educational institutions were also inundated, such as SMP Negeri 1 Blega, MA Abrowiyah, Al Hamidiyah Middle School, Al Jadid High School, MI, Islamic boarding school 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.His party has coordinated with the Bangkalan Regency Government Social Service for the distribution of emergency response assistance for flood victims in Blega District, Bangkalan."The assistance we have distributed is in the form of packaged rice and until tonight the distribution is still ongoing," said Geger Hery Susianto.
