JAKARTA - The election of Sandiaga Salahudin Uno as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) was warmly welcomed by the management of the OK OCE Indonesia program. The General Treasurer of OK OCE Indonesia, Rahmat Agustiar, said that Sandiaga Uno was able to restore the tourism industry and creative economy which was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Rahmat, through a number of strategies, Sandi is believed to create many jobs after the rise of the tourism industry and the creative economy in the future.

"The election of Bang Sandi to lead the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will have a positive impact on the business world, particularly in the tourism sector and the creative economy," said Rahmat as quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 26.

The rise of the tourism sector and the creative economy is directly assessed as a vehicle for the creation of many jobs. Given, Sandiaga Uno's work as the founder of OKE OCE Indonesia has succeeded in encouraging OK OCE as a national entrepreneurial movement that has given birth to many young and successful entrepreneurs in the last few years.

"Under Sandi's leadership, it is hoped that jobs, which are the main homework of the impact of COVID-19, can be resolved and grow immediately, especially in the tourism sector and the creative economy," he said.

Collaboration

Sandiaga Uno appreciated the support given to him. He also promised to save the tourism sector and the creative economy through collaboration with a number of ministries in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

He proved this step through collaboration with three ministers on Tuesday, December 22 to coordinate. Taking place at the BUMN Ministry Office, Sandiaga Uno met with BUMN Minister Erick Thohir, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia. and the Minister of Trade Muhammad Luthfi.

The meeting, according to Sandi, was an acceleration step to drive the economy, especially in the tourism sector, which is known to have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We immediately moved quickly, I visited the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (Erick Thohir) and invited the Minister of Trade and our Minister of Investment, the Head of BKPM because we have to collaborate on this policy. We must ensure that the execution is on time, on target, right in benefits," said Sandiaga Uno .

He said more than 40 million jobs needed to be saved in the tourism sector and the creative economy.

Sandiaga Uno admits that he really needs the roles of the three ministries to make this happen, because the policies of the three ministries affect the national economy as a whole.

"Hopefully this will be the first contribution in our devotion to economic revival, overcoming COVID-19 and the opportunity to create the widest possible job opportunities," said Sandiaga Uno.
