Unlike 2021, The Voxpopuli Survey Of Public Values Fast Of Performance Of The Jokowi Government Throughout 2022

JAKARTA - The results of a survey conducted by the Voxpopuli Research Center show that the level of public satisfaction with President Jokowi's performance remains high even though Indonesia is facing various problems throughout 2022.

"Public satisfaction with Jokowi is always above 75 percent throughout 2022," said Voxpopuli Research Center Communications Director Achmad Subadja in a written statement, Sunday, January 8, quoted by Antara.

The Voxpopuli Research Center survey showed the cumulative level of satisfaction with the Head of State reached 76.2 percent. Of that figure, 4.8 percent of them said they were very satisfied and 71.4 were quite satisfied. Meanwhile, 19.8 percent said they were dissatisfied.

Of the 19.8 percent, 1.2 percent answered that they were not satisfied at all, and 18.7 were not satisfied and the rest did not know / did not answer as much as 4.0 percent.

He said the low level of satisfaction with Jokowi only occurred in mid-2021 or when a wave of delta variants hit Indonesia. The very high spike in cases along with the high death rate has prompted the government to impose strict social restrictions.

However, as COVID-19 cases decreased, easing began and the economy started to move again. As a result, the level of public satisfaction recovered even higher than before. Then at the end of 2022 the government decided to revoke the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).

Although public satisfaction with Jokowi's performance is relatively high, Achmad reminded that the threat of a global recession and entering the political year could be correlated with the increase or decrease in the level of public satisfaction with the leadership of the former mayor of Solo.

In addition, Indonesia is also faced with the challenges of national leadership after 2024 given the two-term constitutional limit.

"The question is whether the next leadership can continue Jokowi's development programs, or will even lead to antithesis," he said.

The Voxpopuli Research Center survey was conducted 17-23 December 2022 involving 1,200 randomly selected respondents, and representing all provinces in Indonesia. The survey margin of error is around 2.9 percent with a 95 percent confidence level.
