Teco Does Not Leave, He Finally Extends His Contract With Bali United
JAKARTA - Stefano Cugurra alias "Teco" extended his contract with Bali United, just before his contract expires this month. Teco is determined to bring the club that is proud of the Balinese people to win the Indonesian League 1 title again.
"Bali United has not been in competition for a long time since last March. Hopefully the supporters will continue to support this team next year, even though at first those who attended the stadium without spectators. Hopefully the situation will slowly improve. I will continue, wait for the next one," said Teco as quoted by Antara. on the club's official website from Jakarta, Friday, 25 December.
This contract extension also dismissed the issue that the former Persija coach would leave the impact of the absence of competition in the country. It was rumored that Teco was leaving because on several occasions he often uploaded memories with a number of teams that had been defended in his personal instructor.
However, Teco later announced that he had signed a contract for the next two seasons. Wanting to bring Bali to excel in the international arena and to defend the title twice in a row is alleged to be the reason for Teco to extend his contract.
The Brazilian passport coach started a journey with the Serdadu Tridatu squad since the beginning of 2019 after bringing Persija Jakarta the Champion. It didn't take long for Teco to present the title for Bali United.
His journey in the first year successfully led Bali United to win the crown as the ruler of the 2019 League 1 competition. 2020 was the beginning of Teco to bring Fadil and his colleagues to compete in Asian competitions and defend the title of Liga 1 champion in the second year.
However, unfortunately, the competition which lasted only three months forced the team to disband from the joint training program. "Yes, this year all competitions will stop," said Teco.
"Likewise with the training stopped. This year is not very good for football in Indonesia. This year, he played three times in the AFC Cup and League 1. Also played three times. The suspended competition had an impact on the team and supporters. Of course this year is very difficult for everyone who works in football, "he added.
