Recognition Of Traders And Security Units Regarding Smoke Pulsity Around SUGBK: Riverfalling Gas
JAKARTA - A scene of excitement had occurred ahead of the first leg of the 2022 AFF Cup semifinal between the Indonesian vs Vietnam national team at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Friday, January 6 afternoon WIB. There was panic around the entrance to Sector 5.
The situation around the entrance to SUGBK Sector 5, was boisterous due to a puff of smoke that was suspected to be tear gas. This situation had made supporters at the location scattering for protection.
Rumors circulated that the situation was due to friction between unscrupulous supporters. But it was refuted.
Based on the results of the VOI team's search at the location, the incident that had attracted attention was a tear gas eruption. However, it was not due to chaos, but human error from the security forces.
Security officers (security guard) guarding the entrance post of Sector 5 SUGBK, Wansyah explained the incident in detail. He also admitted that he was a victim of a tear gas eruption.
"Earlier, it was true that there was a puff of smoke and it was tear gas. But it was not because the supporters were chaotic or fighting," said Wansyah when met at the location, Friday, January 6 afternoon WIB.
"I was there (the location of the burst of tear gas) again managing the road, that tear gas had Brimob falling," he continued.
Wansyah explained that shortly before the incident there was a motorcade guarding the arrival of a Vietnamese supporter bus. A few meters before entering the 5th gate of SUGBK, suddenly smoke rose.
"So it's true that the tear gas has a motorcade. Suddenly it erupted because maybe because the officers were squeezed, I was also caught in smoke surrounded by smoke," explained Wansyah.
This was also agreed by Fauzan, a souvenir trader who was also at the scene at the time of the incident.
"It was tear gas that Brimob had passed by on the motorbike earlier, suddenly it fell and there was a lot of smoke. I saw when there was a lot of smoke, I panicked but immediately stepped aside and threw my face," he said.
Although the incident had made fans panic, Wansyah explained that the puff of smoke did not last long. The situation was also conducive again after security officers searched the location.
Less than 15 minutes is already conducive. The audience had fled but it was purely avoiding tear gas not because of noise. It happened quickly but immediately became conducive again," said Wansyah explaining.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan denied that the puff of smoke came from tear gas shots. This is because the personnel who were alerted were not provided with tear gas.
"Yes, we checked there, not (the tear gas, red)," said Zulpan.
The results of the examination showed that the puff of smoke came from flares that were often used by football supporters.
