Update On COVID-19 As Of December 25: New Cases Of 7,259, 258 People Died
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. The total cumulative cases totaled 700,097 people since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new positive cases per day reached 7,259 people.
Today's cases increased by 6,324 people, so that a total of 570,304 people recovered. Meanwhile, 258 confirmed positive cases died and a total of 20,847 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 2,096 new cases and a total of 17,1871. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Furthermore, Central Java 911 new cases with a total of 76,137 cases. West Java 903 new cases with a total of 78,097 cases. East Java 822 new cases with a total of 79,207 cases. Then, South Sulawesi has 411 new cases and a total of 28,316 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,733 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 1,031 cases recovered, West Java 725 cases, East Java 520 cases, South Sulawesi 327 cases, Papua 300 cases and Riau 280 cases.
It was also reported that 7 provinces reported the addition of new cases under 25 today. The provinces are West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, Aceh, West Sulawesi, and North Maluku.
"The highest number of deaths was in Central Java Province with 91 people. Then East Java with 78 people and DKI Jakarta with 21 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, December 25.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,037,969. In detail, a total of 6,917,028 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 120,941 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).
"For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 67,464 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases," he said.
