The Director General Of PHJI Jamsos Of The Ministry Of Manpower: PKWT Contract Rules In The Job Creation Perppu Not For Life, Will Be Further Regulated At Revised PP 35/2021
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has denied reports that the government has set a life contract for contract workers (PKWT) in the Government Regulation in Lieu of the Law (Perppu) on Job Creation.
"The implementation of PKWT has a period of time. This Perppu still pays attention to this, still regulates it," said Director General of PHI Jamsos Kemnaker Indah Anggoro Putri, at a press conference, Friday, January 6.
Indah explained that Perppu Number 2 of 2022 did not specifically regulate PKWT. However, she said, the regulation mandates to be further regulated in the revision of Government Regulation (PP) Number 35 of 2021.
"Indeed, it does not regulate the time period, but mandates it to be further regulated in the revision of PP 35/2021. So it really must be understood," he explained.
Furthermore, Indah said there are two types of PKWT, namely PKWT based on the time period and PKWT based on the completion of certain jobs.
"PKWT is based on a period of time, a maximum period of 5 years," he said.
Meanwhile, continued Indah, for PKWT based on the completion of certain jobs, it is regulated based on an agreement between employers and workers.
"For those based on the completion of this work, it must be based on the agreement of both parties between company management and workers or represented by trade unions. The PKWT must also be called the scope of work completion," he said.
