The Ummat Party Clarifying The Flag At The Mosque, Waketum: Not Campaign, Only Sujud Syukur Escapes In The 2024 General Election
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Ummat Nazaruddin Party, clarified the photos of his cadres unfurling party flags at the At-Taqwa Mosque, Cirebon City. He made sure it was not a form of campaign. From the explanation he received from the Chairman of the Cirebon City DPD, Nazaruddin revealed that the incident occurred on Sunday, January 1, after the Ummat Party was declared to have passed as an election participant. Then, the administrators of the Cirebon City DPD held a thanksgiving prostration at the At-Taqwa Mosque. "So the activity is to prostrate in gratitude at the mosque," said Nazaruddin when confirmed, Friday, January 6.
Nazaruddin said the flag of the Ummat Party that was spread was carried out spontaneously by cadres for internal documentation needs. In the event at the mosque, he said, there was no other agenda than prostration of gratitude.
"After the ceremony was finished, the management took a photo together spontaneously. Incidentally, one of the administrators, for not wearing clothes with the color of the party, covered his clothes with party attributes which were then used in the group photo together. The photo was for internal needs," he explained.
"The management is also still tracking why the photo later became news photos in the media," continued Nazaruddin. Nazaruddin ensured that there were no campaign activities other than prostration and gratitude in the mosque. In fact, he said, the Chairperson of the Cirebon City DPD has clarified this issue to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Cirebon City.
"And according to a report by the Chairman of the Cirebon Bawaslu City DPD, he can understand it," he concluded. Previously, the Chairman of the Cirebon City Bawaslu Mohamad Joharudin in Cirebon, said that on Thursday, January 5, the management of the Cirebon City Ummat Party, came to Bawaslu, to clarify the raising of the party flag in the mosque. "From his confession, the raising of the flag was not planned first, but it was a spontaneous action. At that time the management was holding a meeting and prostrating in gratitude after the party was declared to have passed. However, continued Joharudin, after carrying out the thanksgiving they then took a photo together, and there were two members who brought the flag which was then spread at the time of taking pictures. "From his confession, the flag raised spontaneously after the implementation of the thanksgiving prostration," said Joharudin, quoted from Antara, Thursday, January 5.
Joharudin said that his party did get a report from one of the residents regarding the actions of the Ummat Party officials who raised the flag inside the mosque. But when it was about to be followed up, the Ummat Party officials came to Bawaslu to clarify. he added that the actions of the Ummat Party officials could not be justified, because indeed any place of worship, be it mosques, churches, temples and others should not be entered politically., but their actions, said Joharudin, could not be dealt with, because at this time they had not entered the campaign stage, but that was not done, because it was a place of worship. "We have not been able to impose sanctions, because the campaign period has not yet been implemented, but the ethics must be applied, moreover, it is a place of worship and it has also been enacted by a political party," he said.
