The Becakayu Toll Road Is Greened, The Yield Of The Harvest Can Be Typed By Residents

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and his staff planted hundreds of trees and thousands of plants on Jalan Laksamana Malahayati, Kalimalang, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, precisely under the Becakayu Toll Road.

Heru revealed that the reforestation along the Becakayu Toll Road is an optimization of the use of public facilities (fasum) on the green route along the 5 kilometer river.

"This land belongs to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) managed by Jasa Tirta II. So there are two (hand), the other belongs to BPJT. We want to show that the location must be maintained. About thousands of plants we plant along the toll road area," said Heru at the location, Friday, January 6.

The total number of trees and plants planted in the location area is 11,950. The details are 200 trees consisting of 100 ketapang date trees and 100 tabebuya trees, as well as 10,000 ornamental plants in the form of 5,000 pear jasmine plants and 5,000 yellow pilo plants.

Meanwhile, 350 Jambu Jamaika trees were also planted, 100 orgga trees, 1,000 chilies, 100 terongs, 100 tomatoes, to 100 gejah coconuts. Heru said, the yield of this urban farming activity can be used by the community itself.

"I ask for permission from BPTJ and Jasa Tirta II to be used as urban farming. Maybe 1-2 staff are assisted by the Mayor, Mr. Camat and the lurah, PPSU to manage it. The result is, please take advantage of it themselves. The important thing is that this land is maintained," explained Heru.

In addition, Acting Governor Heru also left a message to the Bekasi Regency Government to cooperate with DKI Jakarta in maintaining the beauty and beauty of the Becakayu toll road area if later Bekasi Regency also greened the toll underlying area in its area.

"Today I entrusted it to him, the location in Bekasi must also be like that. I asked the Regent (to join) to plant trees. His task with us is to protect the environment so that it is always green, so that we are in an effort to keep clean water sources in Jakarta continue," he explained.
