Telegram Bosses Want To Make Their Services A Business Field

JAKARTA - Telegram boss Pavel Durov finally intends to make his instant messaging application a business field. This is for the sake of keeping the business alive.

The plan will be launched by Durov from next year. It is known, Telegram has exceeded 400 million active users in April this year. The Russian-based company will introduce a one-to-many advertising platform to the public.

Durov said he had personally funded the business, which is now seven years old. But as time goes by, he intends to find a way to make money from Telegram.

"A project of our size needs at least several hundred million dollars per year to keep going," said Durov as quoted by TechCrunch, Friday, December 25.

If Telegram monetizes one-to-many channels through its advertising platform, channel owners will receive free traffic. Another way to monetize its services is through premium stickers with the addition of expressive features.

"The artists creating this new type of sticker will also benefit from a portion. We want the millions of creators in the Telegram ecosystem and small businesses to thrive, enriching the experience of all our users," said Durov.

In fact, some analysts often hope that Telegram can monetize the platform through blockchain token projects.

However, after several delays and regulatory issues, Telegram stated that they had decided to leave the project.
