Village Head who Sells 4.7 Hectares of Village Asset Land Arrested by West Java Regional Police
BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police's Special Criminal Research Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) team arrested the village head and former village head of Cibogo Village, West Bandung Regency, West Java. The two of them sold 4.7 hectares of village asset land to the state's loss of IDR 30 billion.
Director of West Java Regional Police's Special Criminal Research Directorate, Commissioner Arif Rahman, said that there were four suspects in this case, namely MS the former Head of Cibogo Village, AS as Head of Cibogo Village, AY as Secretary of Cibogo Village, and DSH as the fictitious heir of the land.
"Based on the results of the investigation, and in-depth and comprehensive investigations in handling criminal acts of corruption, we found strong initial evidence that there was suspicion of abuse of authority by transferring the village treasury", said Commissioner Arif in Bandung, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 5.
He explained that MS and AY were suspected of having conspired since 2005 to hand over the village's land assets to the heir, DSH, through an agreement.
Then the process of handing over the assets was followed up to the next stage when AS served as village head in 2014.
The suspects, namely MS, AY, and AS, crossed out the village's land assets so that it looked as if they belonged to the heirs. Then, he said, the heirs sold the land to several parties who did not know the origin of the land.
"We have examined 25 witnesses, including the experts needed to ask for their opinion regarding the construction of the case", said Commissioner Arif.
