Not Only 1,321 Election Hoax Content, 11 Radical TV Streaming And 86 URLs Also Closed By Kominfo
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology admits that it has handled 1,321 hoax content containing politics to this day.
"As of January 4, 2023 (Wednesday), information related to hoaxes has been closed; or we have handled 1,321 political hoaxes," said Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. In addition to hoaxes, Kominfo has also closed 11 radical TV streaming broadcasts and 86 URLs or websites.
This was done to guard the political year ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous General Election (Pemilu) so that it is not fulfilled with post-true political culture (post-truth politics) to the lieflow propaganda technique (firehose of falsehood) in the digital space.
"Don't let it be filled with hoaxes, disinformation, malainformation," he added.
With a relatively shorter election campaign schedule, according to Johnny, the potential for the use and use of digital spaces will also be massive. The Secretary General of the NasDem Party appealed to the public to use digital spaces responsibly and do useful things.
"Utilizing Indonesia's digital spaces to improve election contests, utilizing our digital spaces to increase community participation, utilizing our digital space to produce legitimate elections (logical, ed.)," he explained.
The public is also advised to prioritize political culture and ethics well and respect the candidates for leaders who will fight in the 2024 General Election.
"By not spreading post-truth information, whether it's hoaxes or hate speech or hate speech in our digital spaces," said Johnny.
Johnny also invited the public to participate in using their voting rights in the 2024 General Election, because the five-year democratic party is an important momentum for Indonesia to determine the direction of the nation in the future.
