BPH Migas Notes The Ascension In Gasoline Consumption During Nataru Holidays: Solar Down
JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) recorded a surge in gasoline fuel consumption (BBM) during the Christmas and New Year 2023 Holiday periods.
Elman's BPH Migas Committee Salman Arif detailed that the highest distribution of fuel for homecoming flow occurred on December 21, 2022, with an average increase in gasoline consumption by 23.33 percent from normal distribution while backflow occurred on December 28 with an average gasoline increase of 17.66 percent.
"Sock and coverage day during the post period, thank God, is safe and ranges from 5 to 71 days of distribution during the period from December 19 to January 3. Gasoline increases compared to normal distribution, while gasoil decreases to normal," he said at a press conference closing the 2022/2023 ESDM Nataru national post at the BPH Migas Office, Wednesday, January 4.
Elman said that during this post, there was no shortage of fuel and the vacancy in fuel stocks could be directly overcome by BPH Migas.
He added that the distribution of fuel is generally safe, but there are several obstacles to the distribution of fuel due to extreme weather in several areas such as Karimunjawa Island, Madura Islands, Selayar Island and flooding in several distributors in Semarang as well as scarcity of kerosene in NTT.
"Regarding the problem of distribution in Karimunjawa, KRI TN AL has been prepared, which is planned to depart on January 4 but is still being monitored," he continued.
For Avtur consumption, he continued, it was also observed that it had increased due to the fact that many people traveled by airplane.
Meanwhile, during the Nataru task force period, BPH Migas and Pertamina have alerted 114 fuel terminals, more than 7,400 gas stations, 68 DPPu.
There are also additional fuel services in the form of Alert gas stations, Pertamina Siaga, Motorist, and Car Tanks Standby.
