GIAA Shares Apart From Suspensi IDX, Minister Of SOEs: Pijakan For Investors To Investment Capital At Garuda Indonesia

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir welcomed the reopening of stock trading of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) after being hit by suspensions since June 18, 2021. Erick assessed that the news was a good sign for the national airline.

As is known, the release of GIAA's shares from the suspension according to the announcement of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with the number PENG-UPT-001/BEI.PP2/01-2023.

After returning to trading, actually GIAA shares had penetrated the top auto reject (ARA) to the level of IDR 224. However, as today's trading ended (Tuesday, January 3), GIAA shares immediately fell 0.98 percent to the level of IDR 202.

Even so, Erick said, the trading of GIAA shares is a good sign and is one proof of public trust and appreciation for joint efforts by the government and management of Garuda Indonesia in carrying out restructuring.

"We hope that it will be a foothold for investors to continue investing in GIAA," he told reporters, Tuesday, January 3.

Erick also admitted that he was grateful that Garuda Indonesia's transformation was getting better and more visible.

"Starting from management, finance, to services, it will continue to improve its quality so that Garuda Indonesia can fly higher," he said.
