Sabu 201 Kg Coded 555 At Petamburan Hotel Suspected Of Financing Middle Eastern Terrorists

JAKARTA - Police investigators suspect that the international drug syndicate that was raided by officers in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, is involved in financing terrorist networks in the Middle East.

"There are indications that the alleged illegal goods are being used to finance terrorism in the Middle East. This is a temporary suspicion," said Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus, at Polda Metro Jaya, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 23.

The police are also investigating whether the syndicate is also involved in financing terrorism in the country.

"We are still investigating whether there is a connection with terrorism in Indonesia at this time, later the joint team will continue to explore," said Yusri.

This indication appears in the examination. The code listed in the illegal goods, namely 555, is the code for the Middle East.

"The code is the same, namely 555. If you remember when you were arrested in Tangerang, you should still use code 555, which is from Central Kalimantan. So, this comes from Central Timor and there is an allegation that this is used to finance terrorism there, "he said.

In this case alone, the police arrested 10 people, namely TJ, AP, ZAB, BT, RW, WY, MD, MI, FA and AH.

Previously reported, Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya and Task Force Red and White Bareskrim Polri seized 201 kilograms of methamphetamine drugs at WIR Hotel, Jalan KS Tubun, Petamburan Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

Deputy Police Chief of Metro Jaya, Brigadier General Hendro Pandowo in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that the disclosure of drug cases is an international network.

The police then managed to arrest 10 perpetrators. From their information, information developed about the existence of drugs being carried by another perpetrator.
