The KPK Prosecutor's House Was Arrested, Spokesperson: We Leave The Legal Process To The Police

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has fully handed over the legal process for the perpetrators of breaking into the house of the KPK prosecutor to the police. The perpetrator was arrested in Jakarta on Monday, January 2 yesterday.

"We appreciate the local police who managed to arrest the alleged perpetrator of the theft at the house of a KPK employee," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, January 3.

"Furthermore, we fully leave the process to the police," he continued.

Ali ensured that assistance to KPK employees who served as one of the heads of the prosecution task force (kasatgas) had been carried out after this burglary incident. Four personnel from the KPK Rapid Response Unit Team have been sent to Yogyakarta.

"(The team, ed) provides assistance to employees and includes coordinating with the local police," he explained.

Previously, the Yogyakarta Regional Police arrested two suspects of burglary and theft at the house of a KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) located in Wirobrajan, Yogyakarta City.

"Two suspects (arrested, ed). Members are still in the field for the development of investigations," said Dirkrimum Polda DIY Kombes Nuredy Irwansyah Putra when contacted in Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, January 2.

Nuredy said the two suspects were arrested today in Jakarta. Regarding the chronology of the arrests, it will be delivered after the entire investigation process is complete.

The case of burglary and theft at the house of a Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) with the initials FAN in Wirobrajan, Yogyakarta City occurred on Saturday, December 24 afternoon.

In that incident, a laptop along with an external bag, hard disk, cell phone, and digital video recorder (DVR) CCTV at FAN's residence were missing.
