2 Children In Kudus Who Lost When Crossing Sawah Soak Floods Using Sampan Found
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said two children were missing due to drowning after boarding a canoe in a flooded rice field in Bulangcangkring Village, Kudus, Central Java (Central Java), were finally found.
Head of Emergency and Logistics for BPBD Kudus, Munaji, said the two victims were found dead.
"The two victims were found floating today at around 05.00 WIB," he said in Kudus, Central Java, Tuesday, January 3, as reported by Antara.
Previously, he said, the joint team had carried out search efforts, but had not produced any results.
It turned out, he said, that on Tuesday, January 3, the bodies of the drowned victims were known to be residents floating in the water, so they were evacuated using a canoe by local villagers.
He revealed that the two drowning victims, namely Fandy and Tain, were both from Bulung Cangkring Village.
The chronology of the incident began when three children, namely Deny, Fandy and Tain, played by rowing boats to look for fish belonging to mbah Sakeh, who was the victim's grandfather in the rice fields that were flooded on Sunday, January 1 at 16.00 WIB.
After arriving in the middle, suddenly his canoe swayed and three victims fell from the water and drowned along with the boat made of bangkilai wood.
Deny's victim was rescued, while both of them could not be saved.
The search team involved, starting from BPBD Kudus personnel, volunteers, Kansar Jepara Basarnas, Bulung Cangkring Village Government, as well as the TNI and Polri.
