The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 was still functioning even though the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) had been dropped since December 30, 2022. According to him, the policy regarding the provisions for the implementation of activities in public areas or shopping centers is still in the Bandung City COVID-19 Handling Task Force. "I read again that the sanctions task force still exists, the permit is still issued by the task force as well, we just follow the principle," said Yana in Bandung, West Java, Monday, December 2, quoted by Antara. So far, Yana said there had been no changes regarding the licensing provisions for the implementation of activities. His party is still waiting for instructions from the central government. Based on data from the Bandung City Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID), until January 1, 2023, there were still 259 active confirmed cases of COVID-19.
As for the end of 2022, the number of confirmed cases continued to decline compared to December 1, 2022, which was at 1,413 cases. Then so far the booster dose vaccination rate in Bandung has reached 52 percent of the 2,176,088 people who were targeted for vaccination.
