Ministry Of Religion: Mixatures Not Income Of Halal Certificates, Must Not Install Logo
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion said that ice cream and tea products have not been certified halal so they cannot put up the Halal Indonesia logo until the certification process is complete."Logoes and new halal labels can be installed if a product has been certified halal. Currently, Mixue does not have a halal certificate, so do not put the Indonesian Halal logo on its outlets," said Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion Aqil Irham in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, January 2.The statement was made by Aqil in response to complaints about the Mixue outlets that installed the Halal Indonesia logo. According to him, the Indonesian Halal label may only be installed on halal-certified products.Aqil said that based on data from the Halal Information System (Shalal), Mixue submitted registration for halal certification on November 13, 2022 and is still in the process of obtaining a halal certificate."Currently, the process has entered the audit stage by the LPPOM MUI Halal Examination Institute (LPH)," said Aqil. After the audit process by LPH is complete, the file will be forwarded to the MUI Fatwa Commission for a fatwa trial."The Halal Certificate will be issued by BPJPH after there is a Halal Decree from the MUI Fatwa Commission. Before there is a Halal Certificate, we ask the Mixue not to put a halal logo first in its outlets," he said.On the other hand, BPJPH has reopened the Free (Sehati) Halal Certification program for one million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) starting Monday, January 2 through the self-declare mechanism.Aqil hopes that business actors can take advantage of the 2023 Sehati program. He reminded that the implementation of the obligation for halal certification phase 1 will end on October 17, 2024."Based on the provisions set after October 17, 2024, for food and beverage business actors, the results of the slaughter, and slaughter services must be certified halal or will be subject to sanctions," he said.
